Following the Welsh Government's announcement to move to alert level 0, our new rules are:

  • We as a business have decided that wearing masks is optional although we encourage customers to wear masks when moving around.
  • Table service will continue and it will not be possible to stand / sit at the bar at this time.
  • A hand disinfectant is available and we encourage people to continue to wash their hands and use the disinfectant.
  • We will continue to take "Track and trace" details at the moment in reception and give each group an allocated table.

Announcement:

We are happy to be fully open again.
Thank you everyone who supported us during the last few weeks.

As the rooms, restaurant and lounge area opened on the 17th of May, we have introduced a few changes.
For food or drinks please go to reception on arrival for track and trace and to be allocated a table.
We are serving lunch 12:00 – 2:30 and evening meals 5:45 – 8.15.

We have an app to order drinks “Gwesty Ty Newydd” which can be found in your play store or app store on any smartphone.

It is mandatory to wear a face covering and keep to social distancing rules.

The terrace and lounge area are on a first come first served basis. We would recommend booking a table for meals in the restaurant. You can do this by calling 01758760207.

Announcement:

Following the announcement Friday from the Welsh Government, it appears that we will be able to open the inside (Rooms and restaurant) from May 17th. At the moment, this is a notice to prepare, and it will be confirmed nearer to the date. We'll let you know as soon as it's confirmed. Keep an eye out on our website and on this Facebook page for this update.

The Terrace will be open from Tomorrow (26/4) onwards. We recommend booking.


Covid Regulations

We are looking forward to welcoming all our staff and customers back to Gwesty Ty Newydd.


Our Terrace will be open form 12pm on Monday 26/4/21. Once we have an opening date on the inside, we will update you on our website and on Facebook.
Over the lockdown period at Gwesty Ty Newydd Hotel we have been working hard to put into place all the recommendations from the Government and Public Health Wales that protect our customers and team members during this lockdown time, including but not limited to:

  • Social Distancing – 2 Meters distance between our Front of House teams and our guests at Reception, Public Areas, Lifts and Corridors.
  • Bedrooms have Key Critical Cleaning Touch Point, these touchpoints including, handles, switches, remote controls, and high contact furniture.
  • Enhanced cleaning practices in conjunction with antibacterial and antiviral chemicals in all public areas, washrooms and lifts.
  • Our teams have been provided with the relevant PPE in each of the hotels departments.

Looking forward, when we can re-open fully, we will be undertaking intensive preparations & cleaning procedures to ensure all our areas of the Hotel are in the best possible condition. This is an ongoing process and will be updated along with government announcements, guidelines, and industry best practice.

The procedures we are already following will continue and then enhanced when we are able to open further areas, this will include such practices as: -

  • Restaurants and Lounge areas will also follow the social distancing guidelines, Table service only, with all meals being served to the tables, no buffets in place.
  • All furniture in our Restaurants, Lounges will be disinfected after each customer
  • ANTIBAC hand gel to be available for all guests in designated areas around the hotel.
  • Guests will be asked to USE CARD PAYMENTS when possible- the card machine will be wiped down with a disinfectant after each guest use.
  • BEDROOM ENTRY RESTRICTED. No access will be made to the bedroom during a guest stay. Housekeeping or Maintenance team members will only enter the bedroom on the guests’ request, to fix a reported maintenance issue. If a member of staff is requested to enter a bedroom whilst the room is occupied the team member will be wearing PPE and the guest will be asked to leave the room so social distancing can be maintained.
  • We will work with our guests to prevent congestion whether at arrival or departure with the use of pre check in and express check out.
  • Dining times will be staggered to ensure social distancing can be adhered to.
  • All team members have been retrained in line with Covid-19 guidelines. New cleaning process for hygiene and cleanliness in all areas of the hotel.
  • We will continue to monitor the health of our team and our guests. Any team member with symptoms or someone in their household who has symptoms will self-isolate in line with PHE guidelines.
  • All our booking channels and areas in the hotel will follow the same actions, with staff reserving the right to ask a guest to leave if a guest is showing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for the security and protection of its guests and team members.

As government guidelines continue to change and develop, we will review, refresh and update our H&S Guidelines within our policies. We all, as a team look forward to welcoming you back to Gwesty Ty Newydd Hotel in the very near future.

Re-opening!!

We are very happy to announce that we will be opening on the 26th of April. Until we get a date for opening the inside, we will be serving food and drink on the terrace only.

Food will be served 12:00 – 2:30pm and 6:00 – 8:00pm.

Exciting News!

The work on the terrace has begun this week, with a retractable roof and new glass frontage. We are excited to welcome all our customers back to Ty Newydd and to the new Terrace. We hope to get a confirmed opening date on the 22nd of April. As soon as we get a date, we will let you all know on our Facebook page and our Website. Hopefully we will see you all soon!

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are delighted to announce that the Terrace will re-open on the 15th of July at 3pm each day for drinks only. We will follow a health and safety regime to comply with government guidance on COVID19. Booking required, you can do this by sending a message or calling 01758760207. If the weather is bad, we will not be able to open, so please call before coming to make sure.

We will be opening the Hotel, Restaurant and Bar on the 3rd of August. We are only take table bookings to the restaurant at the moment from the 3rd. We look forward to welcoming you back.


COVID-19

Following the announcement on the 20/03/20, we will be closing our doors at midnight tonight until we hear differently. Thank you all for your support and understanding during this difficult time. We will keep you updated and we look forwards to welcoming you back soon.
